What a treasure of an Airbnb! We loved our stay and even extended! The location is both ideal for access to national parks and hip former mining towns as well as the Sand Canyon hikes immediately out back! You can stay in or be out- lots to do or blissfully relaxing. Susan is a great host, responsive and full of ideas. We hope to return again soon and highly recommend The Bunker.

I stayed at the Bunker for a month for a work rotation and I am so glad I did. The place is located in McElmo Canyon, footsteps away from Canyon of the Ancients, with gorgeous hikes and a direct view of the Ute Mountains. The space is large and cozy with windows overlooking the whole scenery. Pictures do not do it justice. Additionally, the space has a full kitchen, workspace with reliable wifi, and private laundry in the unit that all made for a very comfortable prolonged stay. It is decently far from downtown Cortez (~20-25 min drive) and the drive can be a little unnerving at night, especially the first time, but I am glad I stayed there as it was a nice escape but still accessible. Susan was incredibly responsive and accommodating and provided great hike recommendations. Would absolutely recommend the Bunker!

We loved every minute of our stay here. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous and Susan was an excellent hostess. Would definitely stay here again!

We are planning a longer stay, and we wanted to check it out first. The Bunker did not disappoint. It backs up to great hiking, and the all the surroundings are incredibly beautiful--mountain views are spectacular. The location also is great for Mesa Verde and other national/state parks. Susan is very friendly and informative, and we enjoyed her dogs. Every morning when they let out the horses, we enjoyed their zoomies across the pasture as we drank our coffee The accommodations were quite comfortable, and we're looking forward to our return trip.

The Bunker is a comfortable apartment, surrounded by beautiful scenery and on the edge of the Canyon of the Ancients National Monument. Great hiking out the back door and when you're ready for something different, there are so many options within an easy drive. Four of us stayed for 3 nights; it was a bit cozy but felt homey. There's a nice patio to enjoy the mornings and evenings. We saw Susan on our last day and she was warm and interested in our adventures. I am a satisfied, return guest (3rd time!).
