We liked the apartment very much as it is bright and spacious and super central (both to the sea and to the old town). The view from the windows to the sea was unique. Only the kitchen area is getting old and in need of renovation. We felt very comfortable in the apartment and would book the accommodation again at any time. The hostess was very generous and accommodating.

The place was modestly clean, had no shower curtains (host told us it wasn't a 4 star hotel!), tiny balconies (misleading pics), upstairs A/C barely worked and lots of things looked nice on the outside but would fall apart after use (like the balcony shades, outer fridge door, bathroom cabinets). After we left, the host did NOT wash any of the towels, bed sheets, or even showed up to sweep the place or say goodbye (we never met the lady). We went at around 10:30am to the dolphinarium, left our luggage there up until around 11:30am, and when we came back a new renter was already in the place cooking. There was no time for the host to clean anything. The (old) building was horrible, smelled like pee, had pee on the stairs (no elevator/4 flights) that was cleaned up 3-4 days into our trip, and the ceiling from the building "lobby" had a 1 1/2 square meter hole in it, showing rusty pipes and other degraded stuff. The listing is overpriced at 640RON/night, and not what you would expect from a penthouse.

On the plus side: the place is definitely nice inside. The couches are comfortable and the air conditioner on the main floor worked well and kept the space nice and cool. The views were very nice and the beds were comfortable and the sheets were clean. On the downside: The oven didn’t work, the air conditioner upstairs was in the common hallway so to keep the bedrooms at a reasonable temperature we needed to leave the bedroom doors open overnight so it wasn’t so private because there were no fans in the bedrooms. There was only enough toilet paper to last one day and there wasn’t an adequate amount of shampoo/body wash. Also the washing machine was not always working properly and the dishwasher didn’t wash the dishes well. There is no welcome book, which would have been helpful since it wasn’t obvious where to find simple things like pots and pans to cook with which were hidden in a solarium room outside the kitchen. Also there is no elevator so you need to carry your bags up 5 flights of stairs. We were staying for a music festival and were paying a lot to stay there. I was expecting more for the money we were spending which was 400 € per night for 4 nights. Some simple thoughtful touches would have made this a great stay but we left feeling short changed. Communication was good, but I never once spoke or met an Antonella. We dealt with another Romanian fellow with broken English.
