Our stay at Croughly Farm was very nice. You will stay in an old house, in a very quiet area, with a fantastic view. Unfortunately we were not able to meet Anne, so we cannot give a review about her, but she has decorated the house in a warm and cozy way, so Anne must be very nice. We really liked the fireplace with coal. The free use of wood and coal is also good. The living room was nice and warm. The bedrooms are cold at night, but an electric blanket is wonderful. The beds are very nice. The electricity works with a coin machine, but the consumption is not too bad. To be honest, you pay more attention to your power consumption. Too bad there is no real shower, but washing in the bath is also fine. The kitchen is well equipped, but a disadvantage is the lack of a proper extraction. Our smoke detectors kept going off. We would love to come back to this beautiful place in the Cairngorms.

Croughly Cottage was idyllic and even more picturesque than the photos. Anne had welcomed us with a warming fire and left us to our own privacy whilst always being contactable if needed. There were also packets of biscuits and tea and coffee which were welcomed as we had not passed any open shops on the evening drive from Aberdeen airport. It was a central location for walks and more, you will not be disappointed if you come here.

Lovely peaceful stay at Croughly. the space had everything we needed and we made good use of the garden and its views. Anne was friendly and communicative. highly recommended!

The cottage was easy to find and easy to access. Views from the cottage are spectacular. It was clean and tidy and the host had set a fire going in the stove; a lovely welcome. The cottage can comfortably sleep 4 and there’s almost everything you’d need for a self catered stay. Our host Anne was responsive and great to deal with. 5 stars generally; only let down by a lack of a self contained shower which would have been great (we knew this was not available when booking. I would recommend this cottage to young families and others wanting to make the most of the fabulous countryside and sporting facilities.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at this lovely cottage. The surroundings were stunning and very peaceful, which was exactly what we were hoping for. It is the perfect place to spend a few days together as a family and was definitely worth the 500 mile trip for us! I easily found the cottage by car using Anne's instructions and she was very helpful and responsive, to some additional queries I had during our stay. Just a couple of further notes to make, on the cottage itself. Firstly, the stairs do not have a banister for holding on to, so some extra care is needed when climbing and descending. And lastly, depending on the length of the stay, just ensure to bring enough coins for the electric meter, as all the main appliances are electric including the oven. However, Anne was kind enough to leave us some coins when we arrived and we made sure that we had more than enough, to cover our stay. Overall, we would definitely recommend Croughly Cottage and would be happy to return!
