This Cabin in the woods offers a great spot just outside woodstock, with everything a cabin would ever need. We made great use of the stove and kitchen to have many homecooked meals, and the seating arrangement was great for our party of 4. Beds were comfortable, house was well heated, the place was nice and cozy.

We had a fantastic time, and so did our little dogs. The fireplace is wonderful. The inside of the cottage was even more cool looking that I could tell from the website! I loved the small elite collection of diverse books. There was even a book from 1878! I enjoyed reading the O. Henry stories, too, and wanted to read most of the interesting books I found. I did read through some of the Woodstock handbook and learned quite a bit. The piano was a delightful surprise (I play piano). The Christmas tree and lights were also a special surprise--thank you! We really enjoyed the Overlook Trail, and we spent an afternoon in Woodstock. I enjoyed having the chance to read by the fire. We liked having the chickens come to visit! Thank you for being a great host and for your love of animals and nature!

The cottage is adorable , the fireplace was beautiful and functional !! It was cozy and warm the whole week ! All in all a lovely 8 days ! Bedding was attractive and warm too ! Thanks for a memorable Xmas !!!

We had a great time. Everything was just as described. It was interesting to experience the history of the former glass making community the house was a part of and to imagine what once was. We enjoyed seeing the chicken from the window every morning and quiet nights at the fireplace. Woodstock is a 10 minute drive and has everything one could ask for: Nice restaurants, little stores, and a great organic supermarket. There are also nice hiking opportunities all around. We hiked up to the fire tower on Overlook Mountain. The trailhead is only a 5 minutes drive away and the views from the mountain top are gorgeous. It was a great escape from the city that left us recharged and relaxed.
