When we first stumbled upon this spot on AirBnB, it seemed almost too good to be true. There must be a catch! But everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Joanne is the most thoughtful, gracious host. She provided us with all the information we needed. The spot is just perfect! The kitchen was well stocked with everything one needs to feel at home, with enough room to host the family we were visiting. The bedroom comfortable, the bathroom beautiful and the balcony spacious. The location is both isolated and near downtown Nelson Joanne had excellent restaurant recommendations and was of great help. She went way beyond to make our long-weekend comfortable and memorable. Thanks Joanne and Nelson for a wonderful weekend! We will be back, Duncan

We had a fantastic stay! Joanne is lovely and super responsive. The place was beautiful and clean and we absolutely loved the wrap around deck and the views! Would def stay here again. Thanks Joanne!

Homey, quiet accommodations with a fantastic view. Beautiful kitchen. Joanne was a very accommodating and responsive host. We were a family of four with two kids (3,6) and managed comfortably. Close to all that Nelson has to offer. Would definitely recommend to future guests!

Joanne's beautiful guest house is exactly as the pictures show. It is an absolute gem! We felt completely at home almost immediately. Joanne has thought of everything to make a stay relaxing and enjoyable. The view from the veranda is special. There are so many options for just sitting and relaxing - inside and on the veranda. The neighbourhood is very quiet, but you are only 15 minutes walk into town and all it has to offer. Lots of good coffee shops, restaurants and cafes. (The walk home is a bit more of a challenge as it's all uphill, but that just helped us to burn off some of the calories we had collected in cafes etc). Joanne is very friendly and accommodating and gave us some great info and tips about Nelson. We were sad to say goodbye to the guest house and only wish we had stayed longer and could return often. Thank you Joanne for adding wonderful memories to our trip.

The Veranda Guest House is a well appointed cottage with a beautiful view of the mountains across the lake from its wraparound veranda, the perfect spot for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. It has all the amenities to make a stay easy and enjoyable, as well as beautiful landscaping and art reflecting the owner’s discerning taste. Joanne is very helpful with recommendations for things to see and experience in and around town. All in all, a wonderful place to stay in one of Canada’s most picturesque and interesting towns.
