Our stay here was nice. The cottage itself is clean, spacious and only a 20 min walk from the beach. There was complimentary coffee, tea, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing machine tablets, and firelogs. The garden was spacious and private which was great. However, there were a few minor things that could have really made this stay 5 stars: 1) We were only given 4.5 toilet rolls for the 10 of us for 6 days. When I asked John about this, he got defensive and said it was self catering. This was strange to us as we'd never stayed somewhere that intentionally didn't give us enough toilet roll, and it was strange John never told us beforehand. John did say we could grap 4 more rolls from the shed but this still wasn't enough. John was generous with many other things so I wonder why he was very tight on loo roll. 2) From the very beginning of our stay, the dishwasher needed dishwasher salt and rinse aid, yet none were provided. 3) The bedrooms didn't have any spare sockets to plug in any chargers or other electrical things. The sockets were also hard to get to. 4) The room with the fold out bed was quite small. I wouldn't recommend 2 people stay in there as there's not enough space for the bags of 2 guests. 5) Some of the things asked of us in the house rules were odd. For instance, we were told that we had to take away with us any glass that we used to the nearest glass recycling site, which is not really what we expect to be doing at a holiday. We were also told to not wear shoes in the house, which was odd given the house is 90% wooden floors. We were also told we weren't allowed to adjust the timing of the heating as well. 6) The microwave was too small to fit in any of the dinner plates. So there are a few adjustments that need to be made if John wants to improve the quality of the stay at this place, but overall it was a pleasant few days.

For a truly relaxing experience, it is important to ensure that you are staying in a place that is at least on the same standard as your own home - this was a truly high class venue ! Everything had obviously been thought through very carefully - well done to the hosts!

Everything you could want staying in a cottage. Plenty of kitchen ware and utensils. Great outdoor space. John gave loads of good info on directions. Arrival instructions and local info. 20 min walk from the costal path. Thoroughly recommend.

A beautiful place in a great location. The house was bright, spacious and clean and fantastically equipped with everything we could have ever needed. The huge windows and underfloor heating make the place both cosy and luxurious. As a bonus the place was incredibly child friendly with high chairs, stair gates and kids plates, bowls, beakers etc.
