We had a wonderful time at the cottage. Sandy and John are excellent hosts, they were always available and responsive to any of our needs or questions. The property is absolutely stunning, peaceful and private. Great little getaway!

Sandy and John's compound is a wonderland of gardens, water-views and charming cottages. The cottages are extremely clean. They even smelled clean, and the linens had a wonderful fresh scent. Although the decor and furniture is very simple/ basic, the full-sized fridge, real (full size) coffee maker and kitchen basics are really nice to have for your morning routine. We had an A/C that worked great in our bedroom so sleeping in the summer was very comfortable. Plus, there are screened-in porches which are great for enjoying the outdoors without the bugs. One thing to note, if being right on the water is very important to you, I'd ping Sandy and John first to ensure your cottage is front and center on the canal/ inlet. Our cottage still had a water view but was a few spots away from directly being on the water. For myself and my husband, it was perfect as it was a short stay and we had a jam packed schedule with family who lives nearby (and we still had a glimpse of the water and the spectacular gardens. John and Sandy even provide a pass to the local beaches so you can enjoy all the area has to offer. This is a really fantastic bonus, as you can't get into the beaches without it. And there was a binder full of information which is helpful if you are not from the area. The landscaping is simply beyond beautiful and provides a serene backdrop for one of my favorite spots in the North Fork. The value is really great at these little cottages, and we'll definitely come back if they will have us.

My friends and I had a great experience here over memorial day weekend. The grounds are beautiful, the cottages are cozy and clean, and Sandy and John were very nice and hospitable people. We also enjoyed getting to use the kayaks and paddle boards on the creek, they have a bunch of them which you get to use during your stay (first come first serve) and it was super easy to bring down to the dock set up. We didn’t end up using the barbecue/grill but it was another great amenity to have. It’s also a very close drive to quite a few restaurants and bars, and around a 15-20 min drive to a bunch of the vineyards/breweries in Riverhead, Jamesport/Laurel etc. We had a very peaceful stay, would highly recommend it to others and would definitely stay here again ourselves!
