I did not care paying twice the price more than my other nights on the island as the photo of the place looked amazing and I was looking forward to go there. What a disappointment when we arrived and we have been told that the room we were supposed to have is booked by someone else. I told them about it and they just said sorry and gave us another room. Clean and nice staff, though I came to the place because I wanted the place in the pictures not another one otherwise I would have booked another place...

This space was very private and quiet as I expected, perfect if you want to get away from crowded areas and spaces. It’s a really good place to rest after spending the day touring the island encountering locals and other visitors of Camiguin. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the small pool which was great for dipping and cooling down. The staff (especially Elsa) was very hospitable and accommodating. They helped us solve our little problems, attended to our requests, and made some adjustment to make our stay really convenient and enjoyable. The downsides of this place. First, It is far away from the center of town. The description says it is 10 minutes from Mambajao. That may be true from the town boundary but the center of town is still very far off. If you are the type who would like to be close to stores and restaurants or if you would like to go out at night, it would not be easy. We asked the staff to arrange transportation to pick us up in the morning, tour us around the island and take us back at the end of the day. We either had early dinner at a restaurant on our way back or bought takeout and requested the staff to re-heat the food for us at dinner time. Second, this is not a resort with exclusive access and security. The house sits on a road that may be accessed by motorists anytime. There’s a hot spring close by that people visit and the waters below, I think, is also a good swimming and snorkeling area. I am not sure about safety and security issues in the island but we have encountered some shady characters across town. Just be sure to secure your room especially at night. Third, I supposed that one of the staff stays there with us the whole night but I just noticed one night when all the staff left. Having no cellular signal in the area, this worried me and I thought that should not have happened. What if we needed assistance especially if there was an emergency? Lastly, as I mentioned previously, there is no cellular signal in the area. You can do all your calls and messages while on tour though, but once you reach the place, you are cut off from the world. Overall, our experience staying in Kate’s place, Bintana sa Paraiso, was great! If you don’t mind the risks I’ve describe above or you have prepared for all of them, this is a really, really beautiful place to stay and enjoy Camiguin.

The place was great! Hospitality was a plus. The caretaker was very accommodating. Free breakfast was plenty and we were full... 😁👍🏼 The Tiki Hut is great for panoramic shots. Much better if you rent a motorcycle going here for easier transportation.
