Great place to stay. Everything about the room is exceptional. The host is very polite. Highly recommended if you would like spend some quality time with your family or friends.

Idyllic location, great host, extreme value for money. Best Goa visit ever! First off, Mario is a great host. He was really helpful in getting the location. He also made the lunch for us when we arrived, and he's a great cook. He also had interesting stories to share. The place is a renovated ancestral villa. There are original stonewalls with the weathered rock still in place. It's very well equipped. There are mattresses and comforters etc. And the beds are arranged in three lofts and two rooms. The view from the upper deck is amazing. A few roofs around and then trees as far as the eye can see! We spent many an evening there, looking out at the unending expanse of trees that spreads as far out as the tallest hill in the distance and then the sky. Also, Chapora river is nearby. About 30 minutes walk. Or 5 minutes drive. The site is pristine and Mario can arrange for Kayaks. That was the best experience of Goa I'd had in all my visits (and that includes a Taj Exotica stay). The river channel is unbroken and serene. Can be a little tricky since it's not cemented. Lastly, again about the host - he kept the fridge full of things to eat and cook with. Also checked if anything was required. Can't praise the guy enough. We had a medical emergency on the last evening of our stay. His long experience of hospitality industry was critically useful. He arranged an ambulance for us and made sure we got good assistance timely. I wish more people would get to use his incredible expertise at hospitality. Now I know where to go next time I go to Goa. Some points to note :- The approach route can be a little tricky. For reference, remember - take a left at Lady Victory church, then right at Angel bunglow, and a right at the panchayat. There are dogs in the houses along the way which can be a little difficult at night. Carry a stick and a flashlight with you. And most importantly, when in doubt, call Mario!

A really unique place as far as Airbnb homes go. Highly rustic, elaborately so. Ample space for 8 people. The common area is perfect and genious- homey, refined and huge. And Mario was generously helpful- too much so. Went out of his way to fill our refrigerator with milk, eggs, beers and wines.

Mario’s place is located in the beautiful traditional Goan / Portuguese style Nadora village. A world away from the erstwhile idyllic, now somewhat tainted by commercialism and pollution, beaches typical of the “other” Brit / Russian package tour Goan experience. Mario’s house is in the centre of the village. We stayed for 4 nights and had our most enjoyable experience in India while not meeting a single other tourist. Mario picked us up from the airport on arrival and dropped us off at the railway station when leaving, for which the latter required a 5am start. He stayed with us for the first day to help us adjust to Goan life, lent us a scooter and provided an Indian SIM card, which we used for the rest of our stay in India and posted back to him at the end – a local SIM card is a must for anyone travelling without a host in India. Mario has worked overseas in the hospitality industry and knows when to guide and when to let you do your own thing. He cooked some meals for us traditional Goan style, showed us where to shop for food and beer and allowed us full use of his kitchen when he was not there. In just four and half days we got to know the village and surrounds and feel like we had experienced the ‘real’ rural India. We were invited into nearby homes and made very welcome to participate in a local traditional event associated with the village temple. Although Mario’s place is off the beaten track there is plenty to do and see nearby. We spent an evening and afternoon kayaking (new boats with proper life jackets provided) on the stunning Chapora river, a day exploring the Goan Western Gnats, water falls just 1 hour away by scooter and a day ticking off the beautiful Portuguese churches that do the riverbank all the way to the coast. The after dark guided walk by Mario on to Raneache Zuem Island to see fire flies and the moon reflecting off the palm trees was a highlight. Everywhere we went we felt totally at ease and safe. No rip-offs here!! Everyone smiles and says hello and no-one tries to hassle you. Mario’s house is old Portuguese style with a modern extension at the top where the room we stayed in was. The bed was clean and mosquito free. In fact I don’t remember any mosquitoes while were there – but it was dry season. The room was large with comfortable chairs and low table with an open vista across terracotta roofs to surrounding palms. A fantastic place to wake up in and just hang out if you wished. The shower was better than any I’ve had in the UK and the toilet western style / clean. Mario speaks perfect English, is a well educated and thoughtfully answered all our questions about local and national politics. He would be the ideal host for travellers arriving in India...

Mario is nice person and flexible man and the place is good and it's remote area and it's cool compare to city.
