Appleby is lovely but unfortunately this place wasn’t. It’s badly in need of renovation, the windows are rotten. The place wasn’t very clean with pet hair from previous guests. I wouldn’t recommend

Satisfactory but quirky set up.

Internally quiet, clean, tidy, spacious . Steep, tacky stairway to enter. External courtyard environment noisy, dirty.

We made a last minute booking - not easy in August for a family of 5 plus a dog. This was the best value accommodation we could find at short notice. The entrance to the flat was slightly tired looking, but the flat itself was great. A big open sitting room/kitchen with large table. 2 x fabulous bedrooms with extremely comfortable mattresses and very good quality bedding, both with en-suite bathrooms. My 16 yr old son definitely drew the short straw with the sofa bed compared to the luxurious bedrooms, but he didn’t mind. We were right in the middle of the gorgeous Appleby with its chic shops. There was a park 1 minute’s walk away for walking the dog. We had an Indian takeaway which thankfully was open late as we arrived at 9pm. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. A perfect pit-stop. Thank you.
