Tybee Island is a small barrier island; only about 3.5 miles long by about a mile wide. Many guests park their cars upon arrival and never use them again, instead preferring to get around on foot or bicycle. We personally recommend bicycles as the island is flat and it is a great way to travel, plus you save on parking fees which are charged from 8am-8pm 365 days a year (it helps to pay for the beach, lifeguards, etc.). Tim's Bike and Beach Gear is a great place to rent bikes, beach, or baby gear. They will even deliver and pick-up from your vacation rental. Make sure to review how many off-street parking spaces you have as no additional free parking will be available... with such a small island parking is limited! Uber is a great way to get to and from Tybee, but around island we recommend using Breezy Riders as they are local and awesome! They charge $3 per person and are very reliable.
