Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Antoinette ! Même si le logement était un peu compliqué d’accès à cause de la route ensablée, nous avons reçu du soutien. L’hôte a toujours été réactive. Merci !

This is not an easy review, I meet Mariane once for around 5min. The Esperanza is located in one of the most incredible places I have ever seeing. The sands dunes and km of uncontaminated beaches, the night spectacular stars and the local native people are creating a magic atmosphere. The house is really well made with traditional material. The service from the housekeeper and the restaurant team is incredibly friendly and always available for helping you. after all, I have unfortunately to review some negative experiences. As you need a 4x4 only to arrive at Esperanza and I took the bus from Maputo. I was thinking the Esperanza's management was coming to pick me up, the way is not too far. Well, The Esperanza management couldn't organize properly this transportation and I had to pay an extra 1000 Meticas when I arrive and they wanted to charge me 2000 Meticas when I leave. I had to contact a local person that charge me 200 Meticas until the Chapas station(bus) and at the end I was in Tofo where I could each the bus to Maputo, paying around 350 Meticas in total. Another negative experience I had with Tommy, the Esperanza Manager. When I arrive the first day from Maputo, he asked me If I wanted to go to the supermarket to buy some stuff for the morning breakfast and I, off course, accepted. I had all my luggage in his car, I was travelling in between works so I had really expensive equipment in my bag. Well once I went inside the supermarket I remember he went immediately outside and later, after the check-in in Esperanza, I meet him at the bar and I noticed my digital audio recorder on the bar's table… Tommy told me, one guy, when I was at the supermarket, open his car, took my recorder from my bag and run away. Tommy told me also another guy catch him and took my recorder back for the price of 5000 Meticas. This happens in less than 5 minutes and also Tommy was outside the supermarket when this happens, but he didn’t notice anything and also he didn’t lock his car at all!!!! why/how... Other mysterious is, in my bag I had everything, money, Laptop, headphone and the audio recorder was really in the bottom of my bag, so this guy had to really check well my bag and not notice a 3000€ laptop there? or my wallet? I asked myself how a guy is checking my bag seeing al this stuff, why he didn’t just take the all bag with him and why Tommy paid 5000 Meticas without calling the Police? Afterall everyone knows Tommy in the village around Esperanza and every local people know each other as well. I don't belive was a local people but I still belive Tommy tried to scam me 5000 meticas. I didn't pay this at the end, I didn't want to involve the police. be aware, white people can be more dangerous than black people.
