I don't know what I can say that is any different from all the other fabulous reviews - ditto to most of them. We enjoyed our 2 nights very much! Marshsong is comfortable, clean and in a beautiful setting. It was a much needed relaxing 2 days in the middle of a long trip. We hope to return!! Many thanks to Mary Ellen!

When you’ll get there, through a misteryous litlle dirt road lined with magnolias and ancient live oaks draped in spanish moss, you won’t believe your eyes. Between the marshes and the forest, Marshsong is a secluded dream place (yet with every possible modern comfort you can desire), a place of beauty and silence and contemplation. Once there, you would never want to leave: just sunbathe on the dock or by the pool, watch the tides come and go, listen to birds, frogs, rustling grass and popping mud (the marsh song), read and dream on the swinging couch in the porch. Yet you’ll find millions of things to see and do in the area: Beaufort is a jewel, Hunting Island a tropical paradise, St Helena is steeped in history. The house is large and beautifully decorated, and Mary Ellen is the perfect host: all your needs for a pleasant stay will be covered without even need to ask. And she has plenty of stories about the places to see and the things to know and to do. You’ll never want to leave

April 26-28 We booked Marsh Song because it seemed to be the right location and a good size as we had a wedding to attend on St Helena Island. It was to be a place to lay our heads. After two days, we think of it as a destination - a place where we had a mini sabbatical-even though we didn’t get enough time. We would love to come back - the actual home is so homey and yet it felt like our home, not somebody else’s! The hospitality devine! All the little extras or footnotes were like hidden gems, not obvious -just right there as a a gift the minute our minds began to wonder anything. Marsh Song was truly an escape we didn't know we needed- from the screened in porches to walks on the long dock over the marsh-all was captivating!
