Gaucin is a really great place to visit. There are enough restaurants / bars etc to keep you fed and watered, the walking in the area is very well signed and simply lovely in the spring with incredible flowering meadows and vibrant woodland. Claire’s house is a little gem and is a really comfortable, well located and all round great find. Communications were perfect and everything worked really well. We enjoyed it so much we think we’ll be up for another visit and that says it all.

Claire's place was a dream! Cozy, charming and squeaky clean. We felt at home immediately. I am obsessed with the church-like antique doors that lead into the house. The heated floors were a godsend. February is quiet, so we spent most of our time wandering around, taking in the views, admiring the flowers, going down little hiking trails. I cannot wait to come back. Tips for future guests: To avoid driving stress, we found it easiest to park at the entrance to the town. There are tons of parking spots right before the roundabout. From there, it is only a leisurely 10 minute walk to the Airbnb. Most restaurants aren't open in Feb; the hours listed online aren't accurate. If you're staying a few days in Feb, be sure to stock up on some groceries during the day so you can cook a dinner at home on occasion. On Feb 13th (a Tuesday), not a single place was open, but thankfully we had prepared a huge batch of chicken soup to tide us over.

Heel fijn verblijf gehad. Mooi gerenoveerd huisje met een aangename indeling en een fijn dakterras met mooi uitzicht. Het dorpje is erg pittoresk en gezellig met veel restaurantjes om de hoek en ook een supermarkt vlakbij. Parkeren kan niet vlakbij de deur, maar een straat verderop konden we de auto meestal wel kwijt. Smalle straatjes waar je even aan moet wennen, maar we hadden toch al snel onze draai gevonden. Goed contact met Claire gehad. Duidelijke instructies vooraf en ter plekke ook snel en vriendelijk contact gehad. Al met al een aangenaam verblijf gehad in Gaucin!

Lovely stay! Claire’s home is beautiful and spotlessly clean. The view is amazing, with a good sized private balcony. Great amenities including the underfloor heating which makes the home really cosy in the colder weather. Claire was a great host, always responsive and proactive with her information. We would definitely stay here again
