Phil and Megan's place was absolutely the perfect location for my husband, myself, and my 16 yr old. We biked everyday to the beach and to the Above Ground coffee shop for our daily lattes- delectable!!! The beach is a 2 minute walk and there are sooo many cute little restaurants/shops. This place will not disappoint!!!!! We will be back!!:)
Exceptional A+ accommodations! The location is perfect, their property is well maintained and radiates tropical luxury. Loved the open layout of the 2nd floor - so much space to unwind & take in the sea breeze. The highlight for me was the hammock on the veranda while my 2 yr old boy couldn’t get enough of the pool! Unexpected surprise of a toy box loaded with goodies which kept my son entertained while indoors. He felt right at home & none of us wanted to leave. We appreciate that Phil & Megan take much pride into delivering the very best to guests!
5 stars across the board! Phil and Megan were so welcoming. Phil met us in the late evening and even helped carry our heavy luggage up to our unit! The home was just as shown in the photos. The location is great and walking distance to everything. Even with separate units above and below there was never any noise issue. We did not expect to use the pool as much as we did, it was truly a fantastic bonus! My granddaughter also loved being greeted by Shadow and Bagel in the mornings :) Would recommend to anyone visiting Placencia!
This truly was a retreat!. Lots of room for our family of four. Lots of deck space. Easy walking to all local amenities and to have bikes available for all of us was fantastic to be able to tour the area further out as then we did not need to rent a car once we had our driver drop us at the doorstep. Phil and Megan were very accommodating. We hope to return and stay with them again!!! Placencia is truly a gem!!!
Driftwood Gardens was a perfect place for us! It was a great 2 bedroom set up with the 2 bathrooms and large kitchen, dining area and living room! The outside spaces were great too! Plus the location was perfect! We highly recommend Phil and Megan if you come to Placencia! They were amazing hosts!

We moved to Belize in 2017 from New Jersey to enjoy year-round sun, sea, and warm weather. After years of research and reconnaissance, working multiple jobs and saving as much as possible, we finally dropped our old life, quit those jobs, and moved to Belize. We chose Placencia as our paradise, and bought this guesthouse within weeks of arriving. Since then we have enjoyed adapting to the “Barefoot Perfect” lifestyle of the village. We love living in this warm community full of friendly faces and being within walking distance of everywhere we need to go. Phil’s passion is health and fitness and appreciates being active outdoors year-round. While enjoying all the perks that Belize offers, he has not totally abandoned his prior career path and still works remotely as a physical therapist. Megan dabbles in real estate, indulges her creative side by writing a blog (Real Life Recess) and crafting, and is also a superb source of information on expat life, village happenings, and unique experiences. We live onsite on the top floor of the guesthouse. We are always available to answer questions, assist with recommendations, and ensure your stay is as relaxing and memorable as possible .
