What we loved most about the place are the views to the lake - we dined and read by the window looking out over the canopy of trees at the water. Twice we saw a pine martin in the drive. Wild garlic was growing in the grounds. The internet was intermittent so best to take that into account when planning your visit. The apartment is spacious and really well kitted-out: a booklet with helpful information, a kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, lots of utensils and everything one might need including salt and pepper grinders, kitchen paper and plenty of dishwasher tabs and washing-up liquid (we brought our own washing up brush). We quickly adapted to using bottled water. We were away most of the day looking at the wonderful archaeology in the greater area (the purpose of the trip which was to conduct research for a talk on rock art in Kilmartin this August). The fact that the apartment is in a castle is an added bonus!

Well described, very scenic location, quite /restful, well equipped throughout. Plenty of space, kitchen had everything we needed. Would stay again.

The house has great character and views, the apartment has all you need for your stay, arrival and access to the flat was easy and the price is competitive.

Whst an amazing place. Views are breathtaking. You really can eat your breakfast watching tbe sun rise over the Loch. The flat is quirky and comfortable and everything works as it should. Instructions were clear snd helpful highly recommended

The entrance hall of Ernie’s House is impressive but has seen better days. The apartment has a living/kitchen area with a splendid view over the loch. We found the quality of the water challenging as there are also additional precautions which are specified in the prominently displayed notice in the kitchen from the environment health, Argyll & Bute council. Erines House is well placed for touring the wonderful surrounding area.
