Geoff and Judith were great hosts and really went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. Finding our way to the cabin was a breeze and a very fun experience. Being at the cabin was so peaceful and relaxing and exactly what a couple of busy bodies needed.

Our family of four had a great time at Geoff's cabin for 3 nights. We enjoyed the quiet, peaceful surroundings and the beautiful private lake. Well worth the short canoe trip and portage. We found it to be a great alternative to backcountry camping when traveling with a 1 and 3 year old, providing comfortable accommodation with some creature comforts (small fridge, hot running water, bbq, not having to carry our tent and cooking gear!) but still allowing us to access a quiet, off the grid spot. The cabin is really quite impressive when you consider everything comes in by boat/portage. It is fairly basic but very well stocked with everything for cooking, plenty of firewood, and a clean outhouse. The outdoor shower was a nice touch! Geoff was responsive and helpful with directions and the canoe rental. The lake was serene and provided a good jumping point to explore the Massassauga by day. The few neighbours we met were also very friendly. We would definitely return again with the kids.

This was a beautiful, serene spot. The instructions to find it were clear. We went on day trips and were glad for solid walls and comfy beds to come back to. We had a lovely time! Thanks Geoff and Judith :)

Loved the location and the adventure to get there. Geoff gave us very clear instructions, with multiple maps. It was all very straight forward. There was so much wood out there we had no problem with making a fire. The place was stacked with items for anything we needed throughout the two nights there. The lake was beautiful. We enjoyed ourselves and the privacy of our own little oasis away from the roads and city life.

This is our third trip to Judith and Geoff's place on McCoy Lake; and as in the past, it's always a great time. The location is easy to get to, and we always look forward to the quick paddle and short portage into their place. It's been so awesome to see the upgrades over the years; highlights this year was the kitchen light and the hot water for the outdoor shower - just the perfect amount of perks for us as we escape civilization for peace and quiet in the woods. If you're looking for secluded place, that's not too fancy, easy to get to, yet feels nice and remote, we can't recommend this spot enough!
