Truly a luxe stay in the countryside at this rural gem. Nothing generic or expected about it.Very special interiors curated by design pros. Such comfy beds and linens. The hosts thought of everything because this is also their home. Kitchen is well stocked and we enjoyed using interesting plates and glasses from the many stacks for each meal. Great comfortable sofas and cozy blankets to sit and read inside and out. Super shower pressure and lovely bathroom amenities. Location was private yet a quick drive to a fantastic organic farm/market( easy source of morning baked goods). Easy drive to Hudson, Millbrook, Pine Plains ,Chatham and Millerton. And not far to the Berkshires and CT lakes. So much to do or just hang out at the house and enjoy the fresh air, watching the birds /squirrels in the feeder or look up in the sky and you might spot a bald eagle. The hosts have left a very complete list of fascinating shops and eateries to explore. Unplug and enjoy this Hawthorne Valley retreat!

Staying at Hawthorne was an absolute lovely retreat! The home is so well appointed! We wanted to stay longer! A wonderful place to unwind, connect and surround yourself with beauty! We were delighted by the hospitality!

This is a special place. Nestled by a pond, on a winding county road, Hawthorne still affords easy access to the wonderful sights, stores, and restaurants of the area, But more than these delights are those provided by the house itself, which sparkles with beautiful art and charming detail. How wonderful to sit with a cup of tea and watch the birds just outside the window! Every spot in the house is comfortable, with plenty of places to relax. Every place you look there is something lovely to see either inside or out. The kitchen is well equipped, with everything you need and lovely dishes of all shapes and sizes in a variety of green and white patterns. The mattresses--comfortable and fitted with deluxe linens. The house--so clean and well-stocked with cooking staples and luxurious bath products. Ted and Ted were great hosts, leaving clear directions about the place and plenty of information about how to enjoy the area. Caretaker Bill is also very helpful. We love Hawthorne!

Third time visiting Hawthorne House. Still perfect and our favorite getaway. Loved every moment and being there during the winter season was so cozy. Thank you again for opening your beautiful home to us. Can’t wait for the next visit! ❤️
