The grounds are gorgeous and well kept & if you're looking for a peaceful stay, it provides that. Although the caretaker of the home, Alejandra, doesn't speak or understand English (which I was told she does understand it) is beyond sweet and went above & beyond to help us get settled. I was planning to stay for several months and informed the hosts that I would be working remotely. Upon setting up my computer the 2nd day I realized that the internet speed was literally a fraction of a fraction of what's needed. It also became apparent that the host knew very well that the speed would not accommodate me working from the home. I would’ve been willing to overlook: the home itself needs more upkeep - as the pictures appear to be from when the home was first done, (it’s still a lovely home); that the fridge is semi functional at the moment, that fresh towels & pillows aren’t provided (I could’ve purchased more & thankfully, I traveled with pillow protectors & would’ve purchased new pillow

We had a great stay at Carmen and mike’s. The house is on top of a hill with a gorgeous view and we loved sitting and watching the birds fly by. Bed was comfy and great shower. The little hike to the waterfall was really nice and whole place was very peaceful and quiet. Perfect for a short stop to enjoy the rafting nearby.

Casa Amapola is a beautiful house in a fabulous setting, with open views over the rainforest and down to the Caribbean Sea. It is spacious and well-equipped and you could easily sit on the veranda for days on end just enjoying the view and the wildlife around you. There is a bumpy track up to the Estate and then down to the property, but this is in relatively good condition for Costa Rican gravel tracks and is driveable with 2WD. The nearest town, Siquirres, is about 10km away and has a wide range of shops and restaurants. This is a beautiful place to stay if you want a quiet and peaceful experience of Caribbean Costa Rica and when they have finished upgrading the San Jose-Limon road then the coast will be easily accessible.

Carmen and Mike have a beautiful home. We very much enjoyed our stay. Any questions were quickly answered. The grounds and estate are also beautiful. I would stay there again.

Très belle maison confortable avec sa petite annexe et une vue imprenable sur la jungle et l’on peut même apercevoir la mer des Caraïbes. Bon emplacement près du village et environ 45min de la mer.Bien équipée, sécurisée... maison à l’écart de la civilisation se faisant par un chemin. Très bon échange avec Carmen et Mike qui répondront à toutes vos questions et mettront tous en œuvre afin que vous passiez un excellent séjour et vous donneront de petites adresses.... Bonne expérience!!
