Our stay at the sheep herder's wagon was wonderful! Babette and Dale were such thoughtful hosts--Dale met us at the bottom of the hill to make sure we made it up the driveway safely, and Babette made us breakfast each morning. The wagon was full of thoughtful touches that made it feel very homey and comfortable. There's even a sink with a drain in it (no plumbing, but with a jug of water it makes doing dishes, washing your face, brushing your teeth etc much easier)! The location was stunning--views of the Wallowas and Seven Devils mountains on all sides, and lots of bird and reptile life.

Hi...I'm Babette and my claim to fame is that I was SI first bathing suit cover Girl...say no more....Now I have found my place in the sky.... Eastern Oregon is It...love the mountains...high desert... wide open spaces .... The air and water are so pure ... living off the grid and green just is the perfect way for me. Food..I do love food and cooking ...and have a great kitchen to create meals to tingle the taste buds...maybe yours. Reservations for dinner may be made at time of booking ...diners start at $40.00 per person not including alcaholic beverage. Number one are my dogs and cat...I can't imagine life without them. I love to read all kinds of books... and have a wonderful collection of cook books. British movies are among my favorites...But any good film will do. I'm a painter and never run out of subjects around here... love color on my canvases and would love for you to see our work at our Gallery in the Olde Church on Main Street in Halfway.
