The home was nice and clean and as pictured. The location was very close to Ballarat Central but the property is at a Junction on a main road so there is some traffic noise at night. As another review has mentioned there was no breakfast or milk provided even though its on the listing. It is also worth noting the driveway is tricky and takes some manoeuvring to get in due to spoon drains on either side and a large tree. Once at the property we discovered a large tree in the backyard was dropping its berries on our visit, in looking this up the berries may be toxic to pets and people. We were travelling with two dogs and after discovering this it meant the backyard was unusable for us. To confirm Helen was not aware of this and was responsive when I contacted her about it and she was going to look into it. The house and host is definitely pet friendly but the yard may not be. Bedrooms were a great size and the split system air conditioning on a very hot weekend was appreciated.

Six of us of all different ages were more than well catered for. A lovely house with all the room we needed. The verandah out the back with the bbq overlooking the large lawned area was well used and appreciated. Everything we needed was available and we could walk into town and lake. Shops close by were very convenient. Unfortunately we were responsible for some minor damage to the property which was reasonably and kindly worked out with Helen with minimal fuss. Overall, a fantastic stay and we will most definitely return!

Helen was a great host. Nice and clean home with amenities. Fabulous kitchen Lovely bathrooms Close to Sovereign Hill Close to some great pubs. Looking forward to coming back :)

We really enjoyed our break at Helen’s. It was peaceful but close to everything.

Very friendly and approachable host. Entry was a breeze after very clear instructions, having the air con on when I walked in was very much appreciated on a hot day after a long drive. All too easy.
