Been living in Houston for 15 years and this was by far my best experience in Galveston (yet)! It was my first time experiencing what seems to be an interactive museum and Airbnb and I couldn’t say enough good things about it!! The amenities were great and the location was so ideal to tourist around the island. Next time I get the longing for the beach, I’m definitely trying to stay here again :) thank you for everything Tom!

The apartment is huge, and on the second floor. The items inside the place are amazing. We do agree with Tom's thought - if so much of your holiday is inside your Airbnb, then it should be awesome too. And Tom's is. We appreciated the cleanliness, location and history. It is indeed as if you are in a museum of curios and American history. We certainly will be back.

This is by far the most fascinating stay I've booked on AirBnB. The house itself is brimming with artifacts exhibited in a truly engaging and professional manner. Not only do most of the items in the home have their captivating history displayed for the visitor to peruse, Tom has built interactive QR codes for quite a few of them which made our time in the house feel like a visit to an enchanting museum. Even the kiddos, aged 5 and 8, were spellbound. Throughout our weekend stay, they never even requested screen time. The location is excellent. We were able to easily access the seawall for a long bike ride and walk to the pleasure pier for the rides and games. Best of all, Tom is an incredibly patient and enthusiastic host. His genuine love for history comes across in every feature of the home he's curated and his authentic excitement for the past is infectious. Even though we arrived quite late due to traffic, he was there to greet us and give us a personal tour of the home.

Tom's place is a jewel, one-of-a-kind. So many things to see, discover and learn - you own private museum. Lots of space too, and places to sit down and relax, inside and outside. Very comfortable and clean, great attention to details, well located - everything you'd want in a rental, but with the unique convenience of having little pieces of history living with you. We highly recommend the Powhattan House.

This place is like spending a night at the night at the museum movie. Its retro yet super comfortable. Great location and informative host.
