A truly amazing find in a beautiful part of the county. From start to finish Diana and her staff could not do enough to help us relax, from a reliable local taxi service to some of the best home cooked food from morning till night. Highly recommend the coach house at the pheasant. 10min drive to Sudbury and it’s beautiful surrounding villages. They are certainly worth visiting. Expect some very picturesque views around the local area to help you relax.

A nice place near to Constable Country. The advert on Airbnb is 5* Boutique Rooms and Gastro pub. We would consider that the room we were in was 4* at best; when the accommodation opened in 2011 it probably was as advertised. There is no real criticism of the room, it was clean and comfortable however temperature even with radiators off was uncomfortably warm, easily solved by opening the window but not so good if too windy outside. We consider that with the trials of the past two years that it is understandable that outlay on regularly redecorating rooms would have been too much for a small business. What is beyond doubt is that the room price for B&B was very good value. The gastro pub food was very good and we ate there for our three night stay. Breakfast was good but with COVID Dianne has, understandably, cut out the breakfast pastries due to many being wasted, if you think you want pastries then order the night before. Speed of service was “relaxed”. We think it may have been due to less staff and again it is understandable that staff numbers would be reduced with the issues over the past two years. So all in all, a nice place, good food, a comfortable room provided you like a warm one and good value, just don’t be in a rush.

My group of 8 people had the most wonderful stay at The Pheasant! We were in town for a night before a wedding at Gosfield Hall (about 15 mins away), and wish we could have stayed longer. Diana was very helpful in the planning phase and flexible when we had to make a few changes. She cooked us a lovely dinner and breakfast, and we enjoyed cocktails in their lovely pub. Would definitely recommend!
