The location of the home is wonderful. It is next to The Green Flash (while still maintaining its privacy), and it is a 10 minute walk to Chadwick Square (Starbucks, Captiva Provision Company, etc.), so the house is walkable to just about everything you need on the island. We spent a lot of time on the screened-in porch enjoying coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening, and it is a great space. The pool area was also great for our family. The home itself has been well loved, and some pictures should be updated online (i.e., there is no extra fridge/freezer in the laundry room). We had to call for some maintenance issues early on (clogged sinks, clogged tub, moldy vents), but they were taken care of quickly. There were some other things that just need to be fixed (the legs on one bed are falling off, the hot tub never heated up, and one of the sliding glass doors does not lock). This is common with many of these vacation homes, and it is something that wasn't a deal breaker. Also, while the home is advertised as a 5-bedroom, it is really 4 bedrooms. The one "bedroom" is a loft with two single beds, so there is no privacy for those sleeping up there. The deal breaker was that the owner's son and his girlfriends (yes, plural) came and went from the property at all hours of the day and night, so the house being advertised as having a "private dock" is not true or accurate in my opinion. The first time we saw him, he said "it was a rough night" (seemingly from partying). So we thought it was a one time thing that he docked. NO! While they never entered the home, they were on property at different times of the day AND THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT every day we were there, which was weird and concerning as we vacationed with our family. We contacted the Property Management Company after the first time we saw the boat docked, and the reply was "Yes, the Owners do have their boat there. They use the lift. If it's not on the lift, please let us know. Otherwise, you may tie up the boat. The lift is not for guest use." The boat was not on the lift every time he docked (he tied the boat up in front of the dock a couple of times, so our kids could not fish those days, which was bummer since we brought our fishing poles with us and booked the house for that purpose). Had we known that strangers would be on our property every day while vacationing with our children (including teenage daughters), we likely would have chosen to stay at a different property. At the very least, the fact that people will be on and off the property every day should be disclosed in the description.

We have been coming to Captiva for 20 years for family vacation and have stayed at a various number of private homes. This home although spacious lacks the "luxe" features described on the website. The view is spectacular however. Short walk to the center of town and beach.

The description and pictures of the house were deceiving. The same picture was used to represent all of the bathrooms. The twin beds are NOT in a bedroom. They are on an OPEN loft. Therefore, there are 4 bedrooms, not 5, as posted. One of the Master bedrooms has a large opening with shutters to the loft providing no sound barrier to noise in the common area. There are 1 ½ baths downstairs even though all of the bedrooms are upstairs, so one party had to go downstairs for all of their bathroom needs. We had plumbing issues, limited drinking glasses, no mugs, and Pool was dirty. Resolved within two days. Lighting in the kitchen was a problem. Was not resolved. Great location and enjoyed the dock on the harbor, but overall we were disappointed.

Great property location! Quiet and private house, but also close to the beach and restaurants. The place had a few maintenance issues that needed to be addressed. The property manager was responsive and issues were taken care of in a timely manner. Overall, great value for a big group of people and would recommend!

A great week in a great location. House was very clean. View was incredible. The pool and hot tub were used daily. It was a great vacation.
