This is a fabulous older Maine home in a quaint town. It is clean, comfortable, and spacious and sits on the edge of a wooded area. Most mornings we were visited by a family of deer. A few good restaurants are a short walk away. Schoodic Peninsula is a five minute drive and the main part of Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are no more than a pretty 50 minute drive. We thoroughly enjoyed the week we spent here.

We enjoyed Winter Harbor. We’d stay there again. So much to do and experience. Restaurants were great~ best lobster rolls at Gerrishes. Local Folks were friendly and helpful. The Library was wonderful~ books by local authors were available for purchase and oh, did we! We brought Winter Harbor home with us. Librarian was a wealth of information about the area. We went to Acadia on Mt Desert Island one day but too crowded for us. We enjoyed the Schoodic Peninsula~ the quiet side of Acadia for the other 6 days.

A lovely home and location. Very close to Schoodic side of Acadia NP and walking distance to the ferry to Bar Harbor.

Adorable cottage at the end of a quiet road, packed full of family treasures and history. It;s a bit of a trek round the coast back to Bar Harbor, but there's always the option of the ferry if times are right. Good kitchen, comfortable living rooms, and decent beds. We felt right at home for a few days.
