Very central. Five minutes walk to Sunderland University. Close to shops, cafes and all public transport links. Responsive host. Have stayed before. Will stay again.

Found it comfortable, peaceful and practical. Prices attractive for those on limited budget yet it is clean, safe and spacious, and very well run, efficient yet unobtrusive. Signage is clear (fire safety, security, etc.). Communal areas like the hall, passages and washrooms kept scrupulously clean by the staff. Mine was one of the smaller rooms yet was still enormous, with lofty ceiling and ample space. Older bldg so thick walls muffle most next-room noise; you don't hear stomping above or below. Sturdy desk and chair, lounge chair and low table, wardrobe, wall shelves. Bed was large with spring mattress. I found it firm and comfortable and slept soundly. All felt new-ish. Kitchenette with everything for one's repast. Cannot comment on wifi quality, as I used mobile. 3-storey grand terrace with red-carpeted hall and huge stairwell giving sense of welcome. Place feels secure, both inside and on perimeter. 15-min stroll to city centre or small cornershops a block or two away.
