The airbnb itself was modern with a beautiful view. Generally we were happy during our stay but we certainly found the host very rude and abrupt - this is clear from the responses he has given to criticisms in other reviews! The host was rude when we were trying to check in. He initially said that we needed to give him an hour’s notice, and when did he said we needed to book a slot in the evening as he has no availability! He was even rude answering a simple question about the rubbish upon check out. While the flat itself was nice, there was no single use kitchen tissue, washing powder or enough coffee to last our stay of five days. In fact, we were provided with just one dishwasher tablet and no surface cleaner for a five day stay. This quite obviously is not enough! The biggest red flag for me was that the host asked for credit card details as a deposit upon check in. I contacted airbnb who told who that this is in violation of their policies and that guests should not provide any financial information to hosts outside of the platform! If you are asked this, do protect yourself and decline.

The view is stunning! It’s the best part of the house. Other than that, the rest are not satisfied. For the kitchen, the kitchen utensil provided is not thoughtful. No kitchen towel. No kitchen one-use paper. No dish detergent. There is only one cleansing sponge and two washing machine capsules prepared by the host. (We stay there for 3 nights). Have to put everything in the washing machine. Can’t wash by hand in the sink. No seasoning. No food container. I have been living in many Airbnb apartments that these “NO” items here are fully equipped. For the bathroom, there is no rack in the shower area. Have to place the shampoo, shower gel on the floor or outside on top of the wash basin. There is a laundry machine. But have to purchase the laundry powder or laundry wash in the supermarket on our own. Again, the laundry powder should be provided by the host. No host would prefer the guests purchase laundry powder or laundry wash on their own that would have a chance that trash the laundry machine. Everything is like prepared for exhibition only. But not for in-house guest usage. The latest check out time is 10:30am. We left at 10:25am and hurry for the flight. After I’m settled with the check in stuff. So, I texted the host management colleague at 11:03am to tell that I left the key on the table and gone (as it’s my usual practice to inform the Airbnb host that the key is safely left on the table). Received the reply “Time of departure is maximum 10:30 did you know?” It’s very rude!!! The management team for check-in and check-out has been showing all time impoliteness. It’s the worst service experience I ever had in Airbnb!

Julien’s apartment was probably one of the best airbnbs I’ve stayed in. The view is worth 10 stars and it was really very clean!! There is a supermarket and a small Boulangerie really close by (1min walk). Someone was there to check us in and explain after arriving too. If you’re coming to Nice and considering an Airbnb? Definitely consider staying at Julien’s place.
