I stayed here for 3 nights (Thursday to Sunday) for a little escape and we had a lovely time. The location is beautiful with rolling green hills in the background. The location is a 4 minute drive into the local town (Rhayader) which has a handful of restaurants and pubs and it is about a 15/20 minute drive to Elan Valley which boasts stunning waterside walks. The Shepherds Hut is beautiful and has everything that you would need for a short break. The hot tub is an added bonus and lovely day or night. The only negative with the hut, was the bathroom ceiling was littered with dead insects… The only negatives for us, on arrival, we couldn’t get in as we were never provided the lockbox code prior to arrival (despite the confirmation saying we would). I had to call Gemma and whilst polite, appeared to not be expecting us. Our hut was not clean or ready, so we had to be moved to another hut that was luckily available. In all, it was a pleasant stay and we would happily return.

Excellent stay…. Beautiful surroundings and views. Very clean and comfortable including the hot tub. Everyone was very friendly too. This place is amazing for some down time away from the hustle and bustle. Will definitely be returning x
