Perthshire · 整套乡村小屋 · 2室3床1.5卫 · 可住4人 · Quiet town centre cottage - golf, hike, fish
Situated in the centre of Blairgowrie, the Old Scout Hall was converted into residential accommodation 15 years ago. It's just a couple of minutes' walk to shops and eateries. And there is easy access to many championship golf courses, top class salmon and trout fishing and, for walkers, the Cateran Trail. Plus the ski-ing at Glenshee is 45 minutes away. Two night minimum booking. Two bedroom semi-detached house with one king room and a twin room, with a double and a single bed, plus a bathroom with shower over on the first floor. There is a kitchen and sitting room with additional toilet on the ground floor. There is also off street parking with a dedicated space.
Needed a place to stay during a visit to Blairgowrie and James’s place was a perfect find, cozy, practice and easy to find it was just what we needed!
Lovely stay at James house. Very comfortable and well equipped an ideal location for a weekend getaway.
The accommodation was beyond our expectations. When we arrived the heating was on for us abs there was a lovely welcome pack of home baking and jam. There was everything you needed in the cottage and the decor was fresh and modern. The location was ideal for our plans to explore the Cairngorms. We will definitely return
Blairgowrie is a small town perfectly situated to access the whole of Scotland in day trips - Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Aberdeen can all be reached easily in under two hours.
Blairgowrie is the perfect location for golfers, with its own pair of top class courses, and there are a wealth of options within an easy drive and St Andrews, (75 mins drive) and Gleneagles, (45 mins drive) also easily accessible.
Salmon and trout fishing are available on many rivers and lochs in the area. Best advice is from Kate Fleming, whose tackle shop is on Allan Street, five minutes walk away or Crockarts which is next door to Kate’s.
For hillwalkers, Braemar and the Cairngorms are about an hour away, with Glenshee and its 24 ski lifts about 45 minutes north.
Wildlife tours can be arranged with evening trips to see our local wild beavers.
Mountain biking and canoeing are available as well.
It is easiest to have a car - there are buses to Dundee and Perth but they are not that frequent. However, if you are travelling to Edinburgh our advice is to park in Perth and take the train which goes into the heart of Edinburgh.
自我介绍
We are a couple, from Edinburgh and Ireland, one a former journalist and the other a theatre nurse. We moved to Blairgowrie in May 2014 to take over a six bedroom guest house. But we have moved on. In 2020, following COVID, we decided guests would prefer the cater for themselves then interact with others in a bed and breakfast set up. We now have two self catering properties in Blairgowrie.
