Stable Cottage is een prachtig ingericht huis voor 4 personen. De slaapkamer boven heeft 2 losse bedden, beneden ligt de ruime tweepersoons slaapkamer. Ook de eetkeuken is ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien. Helaas deed de kookplaat het niet, maar Debbie bood aan haar keuken te gebruiken. We hebben genoten van de rust en de mooie omgeving. Ook bezochten we Bath en de steencirkels van Avebury. Wij raden een verblijf in Stable Cottage zeker aan.

We had a lovely break over Easter at Stable cottage. The converted barn is on the owner’s land opposite their house but this just meant even more peace and quiet and no road noise/other people so perfect for us. Everything was lovely and clean with sufficient provisions for our stay. The welcome pack provided all the information we needed. Debbie greeted us very warmly on arrival. We are a family of walkers and so were perfectly placed for some beautiful walks within the hills and surrounding countryside. Not much else going on in the area unless you travel to other places such as Salisbury or Stonehenge (get there early as it gets exceptionally busy!). However, if it’s peace and quiet you seek then this is the place for you. The local pub (The Ship) was a little disappointing. No food served over the time we stayed and actually not as obviously great as the reviews online. The locals seemed to like it though. We didn’t go to the other pub in Upavon. All in all perfect break away

The house was lovely. Beautiful outside. The gate was a pain to open with the kids and the weather, but that can’t be helped. The house was warm and welcoming with goodies. Not the comfiest of beds for me or the kids. And there was areas of heavy dust in the living room and cobwebs in the kids room. Quite a few does and don’t which wouldn’t put me off staying again. However I would have rather the dish washer been empty, better towels (bit tired and thin), some pillows (only one to a bed). Internet was non existent so the little bit of work I needed to do was tricky. Also the tv wasn’t the best to work.
