A lovely family home . I booked it to stay with my sons and family to have a base for the internment of both my parents at Woodborough Church.
Nice, spacious and clean place for two families (couple with 2 kids each). Communication with Tom and his team was not an issue. the TV was operated by a fire TV stick and required a pin which when we asked via Airbnb message was responded to promptly. Heating setting which was explained in the welcome folder was sufficient for us. The location was ok, there wasn't much to do nearby. Also, there were quite a few black ants in the kitchen on the kitchen top near the fridge so had to avoid keeping any food there - a bit annoying but not overwhelming. We told Tom about this when we left. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. Thanks Tom and team.
Woodborough is a peaceful village, surrounded by fields and open countryside at the heart of the Pewsey Vale and within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural beauty. There is an excellent village pub and a garden centre with cafes and independent shops within a short walk of the cottage and the village is a member of the 'Walkers are Welcome' initiative, with plenty of beautiful walking and cycling options. Explore routes along the nearby Kennet and Avon canal and up to the spectacular white horse on the hill above Alton Barnes.

Woodborough is almost equidistant from the bustling market towns of Marlborough and Devizes (both a 15 min drive) and 3 miles west of the village of Pewsey with mainline train to London Paddington taking 1 hour, 5 mins. Salisbury and Swindon are both a 35 min drive away to the south and north and Bath is a 50 min drive north west. London Heathrow airport is a 1hr 20 minute drive from the cottage.
Although there is an extensive local bus network and private taxi companies, we recommend a car as the easiest option for exploring the local area.
