Overall a good stay. Great location and host was really responsive. Could be cleaner in some areas but overall fine for the two nights we were there!

Sam's place was in a great location for traveling out to visit various places like Aysgarth Falls, Bolton Castle, Richmond, and the Druid's Temple. There was a convenience store nearby and a few restaurant options which were very good. The place was quiet and well set out with the living room, kitchen, dining on the first floor. The kitchen had sufficient tableware and gadgets to allow us to prepare meals with an extendable table perfect for board games. The beds were comfortable and the heating worked well especially in the upper two floors. The house is set over three floors, so climbing stairs is a must if you need to use more than 1 bedroom. The linens and towels were all clean with clear instructions on how to leave the house. The bathrooms all worked well. We had a lovely stay and Sam was quick to answer our questions.

House was nice but had issues. Heating didn’t work properly- the radiators on the top floor needed bleeding (tops were cold & bottoms lukewarm). We slept under 2 duvets. There was a water issue which left us without water for drinking/ showering/ using the toilet/ washing. We found this on night 1 & contacted the host through Airbnb, text & call, but had no reply until 11am next day, by which time we had to find alternate accommodation. We had an event at 12 & were getting desperate for showers, drinking, the loo etc. The water issue turned out to be from a burst pipe, which we were very sympathetic to, but as the host failed to respond to us we had to leave- we couldn’t wait to find out if things were fixable or not. When he did reply he was unsympathetic & unhelpful (“not much I can do if the water company turn it off without notifying us”, “the radiators don’t need bleeding”) & didn’t respond at all to resolution suggestions. He just stopped replying. Had to contact Airbnb for help.

Lovely little cottage, perfect for our getaway. Nice to have the log fire to sit around at night. Excellent location in Leyburn, walking distance to shops, cafe's and pubs.
