Introducing Cow Parsley along with cutesy retro caravan, Colin! Accommodating up to four guests, Cow Parsley makes clever use of space with one 4'6" double bed with a full size single bunk bed above, and seating which converts to another single bed when required. Creative storage solutions ensure that every area is well utilised. The hut features a small galley kitchen area with small larder, an electric two ring hob, a microwave combination oven and under-counter fridge. GROUND FLOOR Accommodating four guests with one king size bed (5’ x 6’ 3”) and a full size single bunk bed (3’ x 6’ 3”) above. To maximise space, a bench seat folds neatly into a further single bed. Please note - Bunk bed and single bed are available for use at an additional charge of £7.50. The hut features a galley kitchen with an electric two ring hob, a microwave combination oven, under-counter fridge, toaster, kettle and DAB radio. There is a small extendable dining table for up to four guests. Bathroom with electric shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC. OUTSIDE There is a picnic table and garden furniture, as well as a fire pit. Cow Parsley sits in a paddock with three further shepherd’s huts, Foxglove, Teasel and The Beach Hut, each sleeping up to four guests. Please note, there is not designated enclosed space around each individual shepherd's hut. PARKING No vehicle access is permitted in the paddock where the shepherd’s huts are located, and parking sits to the left of the farm entrance which is approximately 50 yards from the site entrance. ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING For safety reasons, we do not permit electric vehicle or hybrid car charging at this property. If you’re travelling by EV, discover your nearest electric vehicle charging point here. BABIES & CHILDREN Cow Parsley is not particularly suited to babies and infants. The inner paddock where the shepherd’s hut is located is fully enclosed, however the adjoining field has a pond and younger children will require supervision around this area. Guests can also hire Colin, a cutesy retro caravan at £20 per night (subject to availability) where the younger members of the family can have their own little mini adventure - a fun den for day use but set-up for sleeping capacity too! DOGS Two dogs are welcome with a charge of £15 per dog. Dogs must be clean and dry before access into the hut and must be kept off the beds. An outside tap is available. The inner paddock where the hut is located is enclosed, but dogs should be kept on a lead around the livestock. Please note, there are three other huts in the paddock, and there is not enclosed designated space around each individual shepherd's hut. Long dog leads are available onsite to keep your pets close-by your own shepherd's hut. The owner has chickens onsite which do occasionally fly over into the paddock. It is highly recommended that dogs are supervised for this reason. GUEST AMENITIES Bed linen, towels and guest toiletries are provided. A hair dryer is supplied. WI-FI & MOBILE COVERAGE Mobile reception is generally good. Wi-Fi is available. HEATING The hut has electric tubular heating and an electric ‘real flame effect’ stove. GUEST PRIVACY & ADDITIONAL ACCOMMODATION The paddock is shared with three other shepherd’s huts, Foxglove, Teasel and Berrington Beach Hut, with a wide-open aspect across the adjoining field. WATER SUPPLY Water is from a private supply borehole and the water is suitable for drinking.
Enjoyable stay at Cow Parsley. Lovely to wake up to horses right outside the door and zero traffic noise. For some, the lack of a decent mobile reception / wifi might be a problem, but we welcomed the opportunity to get off devices and have a tech detox. Host was responsive and very friendly. Only minor issue with the hut was they had a new shower fitted very recently due to a leak and the pressure was terrible, making it difficult to get a proper wash unfortunately. I was assured this would be looked into for future guests (and believe the host will do so) but with us being there over new year, there was no way for it to be fixed during our stay. This was the only blemish on what was otherwise a very good experience here.
A lovely, quiet spot, nestled away from the hustle and bustle. We loved our farm stay with the sheep wandering past the door on a morning. A really good spot to get to places. Holy island was 20 minutes drive, Berwick 10 minutes and Bamburgh and Seasouses half an hour. Rachel advised us of some places to take our little boy and the nearby beach was so quiet. Pot-a-doodle-do was on our list for visiting but unfortunately was only open Wednesday - Sunday so we missed this but worth checking out if you have kids. DATA/ Internet signal at the hut is minimal so be aware of that. Working holiday is probably a no go. Will definitely be back!
The huts are well located for exploring the local area, sitting approximately 4 miles from the stunning Northumberland coastline and around 12 miles from the Northumberland National Park.
Cow Parsley sits approximately 3.5 miles from the village of Lowick where you can buy a range of provisions from the well-stocked village store, including freshly baked bread, cakes and scones as well as lovely local produce. 10 miles and 10.5 miles respectively will take you to the charming villages of Belford and Wooler where you will find a good selection of small town shopping, as well as a selection of eateries, inns and pubs. Alternatively a more extensive range of amenities, including large supermarkets, can be found in Berwick-upon-Tweed just a short 7.5 mile drive away.

Crabtree & Crabtree is a family business with properties in the South of Scotland and the North of England. We live in this area. We were brought up here. As children we wandered the countryside, explored the woodlands, splashed on the seashores. This is our home, which is why we want you to feel as at home in it as we do.
