This flat is the gold standard of Airbnb. This is what Airbnb was created for. It's not just a rental place that someone bought and cheaply outfitted. This is a family home and as such it is absolutely lovely. David's flat was filled with interesting things from all over the world. He clearly has a love for books and we had a nice time looking at the titles and guessing about his interests. This flat is also quite large and well laid out. (It's a corner unit!) It has the charming creaky wooden floors you'd expect from a true Parisian apartment and has lovely high ceilings with tons of natural sunlight pouring through. The flat was extremely beautiful and comfortable. Everything was sparkling clean. We arrived late in the evening and what a treat it was to be welcomed to this home. We had no issue with self-check in and loved that there were a few strategically placed signs in the flat with helpful tips and instructions for things like the wifi or their preferred boulangerie. I cannot rave enough about the charming decor, but let's just discuss the lovely shower/bathroom in this flat! It was an extravagance you should splurge for. After walking 7 miles everyday around Paris, nothing was better than a little luxury to get cleaned up before perusing some of the nearby (and fantastic) restaurants for a late dinner. The location of this flat in Montmartre is fabulous. It's in the ideal spot. You're a quick walk to the metro station, but also not in the tourist hustle and bustle of the Sacre Cour. It's located on a quiet street with a breathtaking view. Waking up everyday to a sunrise out of the gorgeous french windows and opening them up with a cup of tea in your hand to breathe in the morning air truly was ideal. There are fantastic businesses just a two minute walk away. Fresh orange juice in the morning? 2 mins away. Pain chocolate? 2 mins away. Cappucino outside? 1 min away. Fromage? 2 mins away. Wine store? I think there are about 5 within a three block radius. This flat is up quite a few flights of stairs, but THERE IS AN ELEVATOR! (It's a Godsend!) I've stayed in a few different locations in and around Paris and there truly is no better place to stay than Montmartre. It's quiet, it's convenient, it's safe, and it's beautiful. When locals ask where you are staying and you say, "Montmartre!" they all smile with exuberance and tell you how lovely that is! Fun fact: Many of the best artists from France started out painting in the square just a 7 minute walk up the street! If you can afford to stay here, stay here. 100%. I would refer this to a friend, loved one, my grandmother, the Obama's. Literally everyone. David's team was extremely responsive and efficient. We extended our stay for an extra three nights because we loved staying here so much and they were extremely responsive and accommodating. I was deeply appreciative of their coordination. Absolutely amazing apartment in a beautiful and quiet area away from the tourist crowds. The apartment is so thoughtfully curated and a perfect home away from home!
