It was nice to stay at Vincent’s place after visiting Vientiane, but surrounding development has made it a little green island in a sea of red dust. Which is a great shame. It is bit of a walk to find somewhere to eat although Vincent did recommend some great places further afield. Luckily we had a car. A little bit more of an effort could have gone into making it feel welcoming - some hand soap would have been nice - and small things like tightening the tap so it didn’t swing round when we wanted to turn it on!
Nice place, 20km out of the center. Not so easy to find. We could use the kitchen and bicycle with babychair, superhandy. Market closeby and good bus connection. But the busses only drive from 9-17h30...

We built an Eco Resort from scratch. The idea was to pass on something to our children. We are full on with planting new things and our drive is that in 10-20 years time our children will bear the fruits of our labour and see the fully grown trees at the same time drawing on memories of when we planted them. At the same time they get a firm grasp of the natural way of living and we always promote this to our children whenever we c. Without knowing what we were getting ourselves in for, we jumped in head first into this project.Now 5 years on we are still learning the hospitality business .
