Jean's place is just as described. I have a deep appreciation for nature so if you're up for an opportunity to remove yourself from the hustle and bustle and would like to experience serenity, nature, and a bit of isolation - this is your place. Jean was extremely attentive, friendly, and proactive as he wants to make sure your stay is meaningful and filled with great experiences. I would highly recommend Jean's place and hope that I get to visit again in the near future.

A wonderful, off-grid retreat that prioritizes sustainability. Hosts were very friendly and interesting people who are passionate about permaculture. There's tons to explore: animals, desert, beach, and surrounding gardens. The palapa was clean and nicely laid out. The location is beautiful and was mostly calm. Sunday there was a lot of noise and very high-speed traffic on the beach from off roaders, which detracted from the calm of this special place. This is the only downside, and unfortunately beyond the control of the lovely hosts. Suggest a weekday stay if peace and quiet is a priority.

Cactimar is a very cool and unusual place. It's not for everyone but if you love wildlife, nature and stars and don't mind glamping, this place is for you. The cabin is a sweet little spot with a comfortable bed in the loft. The shared kitchen is nice for making meals, but be aware it is a shared space with the host, their family and the others staying there. The hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome.

Cactimar is a very unique place. The desert, the sun, the moon, the sea create a unique landscape and experience. U literally see the sun/moon rise/set every day, and the cacti all around make them very special. The sea usually is very-very calm, the calmest I've ever seen. The biggest surprise & treasure of my 12 nights stay was the dogs. There are 7 of them on the ranch and each is unique & beautiful. We walked and ran and cuddled every day and it was magical! The horseback ride was wonderful too, part of it is right on the beach, next to the water ✨ Absolutely recommend this place to anyone. I'll definitely come back in a few years 🙏
