Simply fantastic place. Lovely house, great garden with a large pool. Great views on the famous palaces. Feels like you are in the middle of nature, while just 5min walking from historic sintra.

Maria’s lovely and charming house is very close to the centre of Sintra. Although the old town and its many restaurants are nearby the house itself ( behind a gated wall and set in a huge garden ) is a world away - utterly peaceful. From the property one can look up the hills to three of Sintra’s landmark palaces. The house which sits on the side of a terraced valley is full of art and interesting objects. It was beautifully clean and comfortable. Good parking is provided inside the main gate. The long and winding path from the parking lot is challenging for those with mobility issues - the path is uneven and there are many stairs. Maria was a thoughtful and helpful host and arranged for our luggage to be brought down from our cars. Thank you for a very memorable stay.

This beautiful property exceeded all our expectations. Exquisite, vast, private, and beautifully cared for gardens and orchards yet right in the heart of Sintra. Super private and peaceful nature retreat with awe inspiring views of several palaces. Refreshing pool to cool off after our long walks to see the sites. We parked our rental car and took Bolts around town when needed as the roads are narrow and often one way. We hiked to all major sites with Castelo de Mouros / Pena Palace being the most challenging. The house itself is full of high quality craftsmanship, fresh sheets and towels, beautifully tiled bathrooms, and all required amenities. Maria herself is an experienced host and was kind, available and supportive throughout our stay. Our stay was at the end of a longer road trip around Portugal and was the perfect way to relax for a few days before heading home. Please be assured you will not regret staying here!
