I loved staying here! Busy conference but gave me a refuge to unwind and relax. They even provided a yoga mat and drinks . The place is well connected and there is a bus stop super close by to head downtown. Quiet and pleasant, decorated with extraordinary taste and detail. Is like enjoying your own little gallery (read the descriptions of the art work in their welcome binder!) Very nice hosts! If I ever in Seattle will definitely book again. DO pay attention to the stairs warning the lovely hosts clearly have stated in their description; they are easy to get used to after a few times but definitely you need some level of strength and flexibility to climb up and down comfortably.
The house was perfect for a weekend getaway! Beautiful, comfortable and spacious. We would love to return.
Could not have enjoyed our stay more. The cottage is beautiful (such thoughtful and tasteful decor!), and Madrona is an idyllic little neighborhood. Geoff and Bryn were lovely hosts, with a high attention to the little details that made our stay as comfortable and homey as possible. They even courteously helped us navigate when struggling to adapt to Seattle roads (follow the very clear directions they send ahead of time, it will make getting there a breeze). Take them up on their recommendations for food and drink in town because they didn’t miss! Will happily book again the next time I’m in Seattle.

It’s so many great things to say about the Madrona Hygge house that hopefully was conveyed in my 5-star rating in every category. The details in the book of suggestions, the shared art, and the books available were all A1. I want to use this space to rave about our hosts! Bryn was so genuinely welcoming and pleasant to chat with. The level of comfort we experienced in their home was equally matched in our interactions. I’m a vibes person, and Bryn is undoubtedly such good energy. With good people in a space, it makes the stay that much more enjoyable. The next time Lex and I are out in Seattle, I hope this home is available. Nowhere else I’d want to stay. Give me Madrona Hygge house every time! Geoff is a well traveled finance guy. Bryn is an award winning science writer. After 10 years in New York City, we now spend most of our time in the pacific northwest with our beloved pup, Piper. We have strong ties to NYC, and spend as much time there as we can. Piper would love to be a world traveler, but gets to go to a doggie dude ranch instead, while we travel. We are art collectors, gardeners and foodies. We particularly like connecting to local cultures through visits to food markets, funky shops and taking cooking lessons. We have traveled extensively through out Central and South America. Homestays in Guatemala (where we practice our rusty Spanish), hiking Torres del Paine in Chile, hiking the Inca Trail in Peru and snorkeling with the Galapagos penguins are highlights. We've spent considerable amounts of time in SouthEast Asia...love Cambodia. We are energetic. But being in our 40's we consider ourselves mellow travelers who appreciate connecting with the energy of the places we visit rather than racing from museum to museum. We particularly appreciate hotels and flats with well thought out spaces with a soothing vibe. We consider ourselves excellent house guests, as we are respectful, friendly, quiet and super neat.
