Comfy place close to Oberlin! Really can't beat the location. The host was friendly and responsive to messaging. Bring your own cookware/utensils if you want to cook, since the kitchen is bare bones. But it met everything we needed and I would stay here again!

Our third time here. Great location, very basic accommodations. The place is overall kind of run down, but it's also kind of charming. Bring your own kitchen equipment to do any sort of serious cooking. There is not even a knife beyond a table knife, nor is there a colander or a coffee maker (there's a Keurig machine but no pods) or a dish brush or a dish cloth. VERY IMPORTANT: Bring a flashlight in case the front entryway is not lit for your entry (as has happened to us on all three visits--there is a rechargeable light inside the front door, but it has never been charged when we arrived). The stairs are steep and narrow, and the concrete entry steps are wobbly, so just be sure you can see to find your way inside!

There’s a lot to like about this place. It was well laid out for our needs, with ample storage spaces, clean uncluttered surfaces (I hate bric-a-brac), a nice-size table for eating and working, strong wifi, enough electrical outlets, and good lighting (which is rare in rental units). The keyless entry was convenient, and the host was responsive. The location is good, on a quiet street within walking distance of downtown, the college, and Kendal. As others have noted, the house is rather dilapidated (this is true of many older homes in Oberlin) and the furnishings in the unit are quite basic. But for us it worked. We’ll definitely stay again.
