Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape just steps from Grand Traverse Bay. Paradise Pines Resort is a group of vintage rental cottages built in 1938 and recently restored using creative reuse practices. We have 10 cottages of different sizes. Some have full amenities, and some require you to bring your own supplies. Walk or bike ride into the charming waterfront village of Elk Rapids or cross the street to enjoy a swim at our extensive county park with beach and art trails. Cottage 4, a one bedroom/one bath, is one of our smaller cottages, but it's perfect for two people or a single traveler. Curious about tiny house living? This 400 sqft cottage has all the conveniences of a bigger space. The pale grey/green walls and "torched" floor give this cottage a modern but rustic feel. You'll find a very comfortable queen bed with an adjustable base and massage settings. The TV with Netflix is on a swivel mount for viewing from in bed or from the comfy leather sectional sofa. Cottage 4 has a well-equipped kitchen for cooking and dining, with full-sized refrigerator, stove, sink and even dishwasher! The dinette set seats 4 and there is a microwave, toaster, and drip coffee maker. A complete set of dinnerware and cookware gives you everything you need to eat in. The well stocked bathroom has a custom tiled walk-in shower and pedestal sink. The wood floors throughout are custom planks we crafted from reclaimed wood. This cottage is light and bright with lots of original windows. Cottage 4 has an in-wall heat/AC unit (similar to what you see in hotel rooms) in the living area and a portable fan in the bedroom.
What a great spot, there are five beautifully restored cabins on ten acres. Lisa is a great host and Paradise Pines Resort is a wonderful place to get away!! I'll definitely stay there again on my next trip to Elk Rapids. :)
My wife and I stayed at Paradise Pines for four nights this October and really enjoyed our time. The cabins have a traditional “up-north” feel but have been completely remodeled inside and out. The kitchen is bright and well-appointed with lots of pots, pans, dishes and so forth. Plenty of counter space for meal preparation. They did a great job in the bathroom with tile and stone work – nicer than ours at home. I noticed the small details of the remodel: tight trim joints, well-designed lighting, solid oak and maple countertops. The resort has a commons area with shuffleboard courts and a campfire site and situated across the road from the Lake Michigan public beach where the village of Elk Rapids has its “Art Walk” – a trail system with some very cool metal sculptures. We don’t usually gush about vacation resorts, but we found this place to be special: comfortable, welcoming, wonderfully located, with friendly responsive owners.
Lisa was a wonderful host from start to end. We really enjoyed staying at their place. I highly recommend this rental to anyone visiting the Elk Rapids area! Everyone in town spoke so highly of Lisa and Carl. There are many cute places to explore around town. I also would highly recommend Pearl’s New Orleans Kitchen downtown.
We are in the quaint harbor town of Elk Rapids. The town offers several public beaches, antique shopping, galleries, a distillery, brewery, movie theater and several restaurants. Our Friday market features fresh local produce and crafts. Antrim County Day Park is directly across the street from us with a beach on Grand Traverse Bay, bathrooms, wooded trails, outdoor art exhibits, and a large covered pavilion with picnic tables and grills.
You can walk or ride a bike to see everything the Elk Rapids area has to offer. If you want to branch out to neighboring towns like Traverse City, Charlevoix or Petoskey, you may need a vehicle.
