We had a great stay at the Lodge. Victoria had kindly put the heating on before our arrival, so it was nice and cosy inside. We really appreciated the milk for a cuppa when we arrived. The lodge is a really lovely space. We had everything we needed to cook with in the kitchen. The lodge was spotless and the beds were comfy. The road out the front is quite busy/noisy but it didn’t bother us as it was chilly so the door was closed mostly. The chickens and ducks in the garden are very entertaining to watch from the balcony. The location is quite far from town, we did walk it but it’s quite long and there are mostly no pavements so it’s a bit dodgy on foot, traffic wise. Victoria did advise about a path behind the house but it looked like it went across/around the field and we had a buggy so we decided not to use it. Not the best decision in hindsight. Something to note, if staying with an infant/toddler, the lodge is split level so we barricaded the staircase with a chair! Lovely stay.

Lovely quaint lodge had everything you needed. Home from home. Coffee tea and even small milk for a cuppa on our arrival. Everything was thought out to make you feel very welcome. Communication good and answered questions promptly. Space and rooms set out very well. Great for our family of 4 and small dog. Had bbq in the fenced off space every night as weather was beautiful. Nice well kept garden in front to look out on with a few chickens and ducks. Had lots of trips to the sea and even went to the other side on a boat taxi. Kids really enjoyed themselves. I stayed at Victoria place with a friend. It is a very well designed lodge . Everything is there to cook a meal and more , very comfortable beds sofa . Although it’s located on the road the cars etc was not a problem , we didn’t hear them ! If you are looking for a home from home this your place .

Me, my friend and my dog spent a lovely Easter weekend at Victoria’s place. Was a lovely bolt hole in West Mersea and Victoria was really welcoming. She even shared eggs from her lovely hens, which was a really kind thing to do. They were delicious.
