Cute, comfy cottage, great location for exploring West Dorset

We had a great stay at the Old Post Office, and used it as a base to explore Dorset. The cottage was full of character and very comfortable, well-equipped and warm. The garden was lovely, even though it was November, and we spent one night sitting out star-gazing, because there is very little light pollution. Also very thrilled to spot a green woodpecker one morning. The only niggle - maybe it's an issue with the host's agent's website communicating via AirBnB - was that we didn't receive the promised message with the check-in instructions, and we had to call the caretaker to tell us how to get in. However John the caretaker was very friendly and helpful and it was only a few minutes delay before we were able to get inside. The road was very quiet, however from time to time there was some horse traffic which was a lovely surprise! Overall very pleased, very relaxing, and thoroughly recommended!

Charming cottage; spacious, well equipped and full of original details. Extremely comfortable beds. Fantastic book collection and local paintings. Beautiful garden and surroundings. Well situated; 5 minutes to Dorchester and not far from the coast.

A lovely authentic cottage in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. A warm relaxed feel inside owing to the vast selection of classic books on the shelves, comfy cottage furniture, nice watercolours and a decent CD player. Lots of room to spread out with good easy to use central heating and a nice big kitchen. Large cottage garden with lovely rear views over fields including one with llamas! Very good for many straight out of the door country walks. Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay.
