The Blue Cow Barn - Betsie Cottage

The Blue Cow Barn Accommodation is situated on a working farm, 1km from Barrydale town centre. Our farm has gone through many seasons - from a fruit farm to a dairy farm and now a guest farm. Our cottages are named after the cows that were part of the dairy and Betsie is our most flamboyant and eccentric cottage and cow. You'll love this cottage as it is situated in the original farm barn that dates back to the 1960's and the gorgeous mountain view. This cottage also has access to the hot tub.

Stylish barn cottage farm stay + fireplace

Farm cottage with an eco pool and fireplace:) The cottage is a unique old barn cottage with exposed wooden beams, stone walls and a cozy feel of our farm's history. The cottage consists of a living area with large double doors opening out onto the garden with an outside shower and pool. The kitchen boasts a Smeg stove and all the necessities to create beautiful meals. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed in a loft bedroom and an extra double bed is available downstairs. . Firewood is included

The Silo

An authentic farm hideaway, set against the slopes of the Paardeberg mountain, only 1 hour?s drive (75km) from Cape Town. Sleep in our converted farm Silo and enjoy amazing elevated views across the Swartland. Often booked as our 'Honeymoon room' this unit is perfect for that romantic weekend getaway or as a base from which to explore the area. Explore the vineyards, swim in the dams and and enjoy wide open spaces and fresh air amid the vines on our working, family owned wine farm.

The Art Barn

Reconnect with nature in the forest oasis and former art studio of South African artist and fashion designer, Harvey Rothchild. Situated on the Garden Route amid rolling farmlands and natural forest, the Art Barn is located a mere 15 minute drive from Knysna and 20 minutes from Buffels Bay. The converted art studio is an open plan designed to capture the soft forest light as it filters through the trees, and to provide the occupants with breathtaking views of the surrounding forest.

Converted Stone Barn

The rustic charm of a converted stone barn set in the majestic Drakensberg mountains. Soak up the wonders of nature on the patio with uninterrupted berg views as cattle, horses graze nearby, enjoy a stroll down to the Mkimkhulu river for a spot of fly fishing. For the more active a hike along one of the many trails on the farm there are plenty of birdlife to enjoy, or bring your bike for fantastic MTB trails. A barn with great views of the valley into KZN

A hop, skip and a jump off the N3, situated in in the Van Reenen Eco Village Precinct. Down the road from the little church tea garden. A great one night stop off. Breakfast at the Tea Garden (not included) or take a early morning walk before continuing with your journey. Dinner pre-ordered for delivery. Good parking for Caravans and trailers. No charge for children/elderly parent sleeping on lounge bed if accompanied by both parents.

The Dairy

The Dairy is literally an old milking parlour which has been turned into spacious accommodation on this working dairy farm. The unit has a more modern feel to it than the Farmhouse. Lovely views of the dam & Outeniqua mountains and a big "farm pool" with deck. Wood-fired hot tub on a wooden deck on the patio.
