The Treehouse: Off-grid Retreat

Shaded in a canopy of macrocarpa trees at the base of Mt Taranaki national park, The Treehouse is a grown-up childhood sanctuary. Built from recycled materials, a repurposed spiral staircase takes you up the multiple levels of The Treehouse to a secluded living space nestled between the trees. Kick back in the canopy, swoop on the swings or shoot down the slide. This self-contained treehouse is powered by renewable energy and is only a short drive to New Plymouth, local beaches and the mountain.

Feel your worries slip away as you journey through rolling green pastures to Coastal Acres Escape. Just 1.5 hours from the CBD and you’ve arrived. Pause for a moment. Take in a deep breath of sea air. You are standing on the deck. The Tasman sea stretches out below you between towering dune cliffs. The sun is getting low, casting a warm glow over the surrounding pastures. There is no one around. Just you and the horizon. Take a sip. Fire up the bbq. Gardeners' Cottage (Breakfast included)

This charming Cape Cod-style cottage offers tranquil and private country-style accommodation. Breakfast is included, featuring a selection of muesli, yogurt, toast, and spreads. Inside the cottage, you'll find a convenient kitchenette equipped with a small fridge, microwave, convection oven, hobs, and a toaster. Nestled amidst berry farms and renowned country-style cafes, restaurants, and boutiques, Gardeners Cottage is just a 10-minute drive from downtown Hamilton & 15 minutes from Cambridge.

The Cabin - Fantail Grove, Hamurana, Rotorua.

The Cabin is located at Hamurana, in a 2 acre garden setting 350m from Lake Rotorua. Located 120 m from the owners house and is completely private. All around are Sugar Maples with ferns and native plants underneath which attract the fantails. Purpose built and architecturally designed in 2019 as a holiday retreat using passive home guidelines. The cabin is a 15 minute drive from Rotorua CBD, close to all tourist attractions while allowing you the peace and quiet of a luxury retreat.

Dreamy sunsets over Lake Taupo & Ruapehu

Our modern home is 15 minutes from Taupō yet feels like a private hideaway. Quiet and secluded, it looks out to Lake Taupō and Mount Ruapehu, with stunning sunsets. Ideal year-round, it has outdoor areas with BBQ, large windows and a double-sided fireplace. Whakaipo Bay is 5 minutes away for swimming or walking, with plenty of bush tracks nearby. Not suitable for children. Hairdryer, toiletries and iron not provided (sorry guests keep taking them and it’s to hard to constantly replace).

The Hilly House, Private Boutique Accommodation

The Hilly House is a hillside property in the heart of the Whitehall district, surrounded by beautiful rural views. Very private. Outdoor baths for relaxing in peace, star gazing with a glass of wine or two. Our friendly and inquisitive llamas will come over to greet you, you can fine their pellets inside the house. There are many lovely walks nearby. Blue Springs in Putaruru, 40 mins. Sanctuary Mt Maungatautari, 35 mins and 10 mins from Lake Karapiro and Cambridge with amazing eateries.

Kotare Lakeside Studio

You won’t want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind place. Right on the edge of the beautiful lake Rotoiti. Relax to the sound of the lapping waves and native bird song. Bifold doors open onto your private deck right by the waters edge. Park your boat/jet ski on the jetty ready for your next adventure AND you can even bring your fur child with you. Outside bath is "rustic" Outstanding bush walks, water falls, hot pools, glow worms and only 20 mins from Rotorua. We wash your dishes!

Explore the local world class wineries, sample delightful local produce, take a trip to the Marlborough Sounds, or bring your mountain bike or walking shoes and trial the track located behind the hut!

Coromandel Sanctuary

Situated on the crest of the Coromandel ranges on the 309 road. Mahakirau Forest Estate comprises almost 600 ha of native forest. Each site is convenated by QEII National Trust who describe Mahakirau "outstanding for it's ecology and wildlife value with brown kiwi, kaka, Hochsetetter's and Archey's frogs all present". A spacious house in a bush setting, sit back and relax, take a bush walk down to the stream on the property and star gaze at night.

Kohukohu 1 -bedroom guesthouse - Tui House

‘Oranga’ is situated high in the hills above Kohukohu in stunning native bush. Three separate self-contained accommodations are all unique and styled with guests' comfort and convenience in mind (view on my profile page). Ideal for a weekend escape to the country or as the midway point to visit Cape Reinga and magnificent Tane Mahuta. We are 6kms from Kohukohu Village (gravel road) and 11kms from the Hokianga Ferry.

Piha Retreat - Rainforest Magic

The Retreat is nestled in protected native rain forest with stunning views down to Lion Rock at Piha Beach 15 mins drive away. You will be rested & rejuvenated after your stay. Designed by Chris Tate, who won international acclaim for his "Glasshouse" in Titirangi. Watch the sun go down from the deck with a glass of wine, enjoy the outdoor bath under the stars, then have a wonderful peaceful sleep.
