Our 1908 top floor flat was recently renovated. We've tried to respect the character of the home, but our taste is modern and eclectic. The Mission District is the flattest part of the city and has the best weather -- if there is sun in San Francisco -- it will be here. Centrally located, it is 2 blocks from 16th street/mission BART station and has quick access to major highways and to downtown. Blocks away from the Valencia Street Corridor with all kinds of hip and interesting restaurants. It's a nice respite after a day exploring the city or coming back from excursions outside the city.
--2 bedrooms with queen beds (one quiet, one with some street noise)
--a state of the art kitchen with lots of natural light. Gas stove, electric oven, steamer, and microwave/convection oven. And a built in Espresso/Coffee machine -- individual cups at the press of a button! The kitchen has a seating area that's perfect for having coffee and discussing the days events -- or a glass of wine while someone else cooks.
--A dining room -- seats 10
--a comfortable living room
--a separate TV room with 50" plasma TV with surround sound.
--Speakers throughout the house. Just plug in your I-pod or Mac to our system and use the remote to control sound, room-by-room (even if someone else is watching TV).
--1.5 bathrooms (Spa tub and 2 person shower). The half bath is tiny, but cute.
--Parking possible. You need to let us know in advance if you will need a parking spot. The garage ceiling is low, just over 6 feet, so trucks, SUV's, and large minivans will not fit.
--A very small backyard, shared with the flat downstairs.
--central heat and air-conditioning. In September/October, you will be very grateful you are staying in one of the few older homes in SF with air-conditioning. And in December, January and June and July (we're not joking), you will be thanking us for having installed central heating.
We love our home and San Francisco, and we hope you'll fall in love with it too.
Guests will have access to the entire house including garage if needed for a rental car. We live here full-time so guests will have all the amenities of being home including everyday staples in the kitchen; cereal, toast, fruit, anything in the fridge or on the right side of the pantry.
The left side of pantry and bar (hard alcohol) is off limits please.
When we rent out our apartment, we are out of the city. We'll be available by phone, and friends are nearby for emergencies. We will give you a code so you can access the apartment on your own, so you don't have to coordinate check-in with anyone.
The Mission District is where hipsters and folks from all over congregate. The first area of the city to be settled, it's also the sunniest and flattest part. Stroll to the trendy restaurants and shops of the Valencia Corridor, just blocks away.
We are blocks from BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit with many stops within San Francisco) and Muni (subways and buses). The highway (in and out of the city) is also nearby.
We love making sure each of our guests have a great time and try to anticipate their needs so you don't have to spend extra time getting ready for your stay. SF has great drinking water so we drink right from the tap. Plenty of paper products available (toilet tissue, paper towels, tissue). Bathroom "stuff" shampoo/conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, hairdryer, lotion, cotton swabs, etc.
Our manual has instructions on how to operate all appliances and has suggestions for local eateries, bars, and clubs. Our attention to detail is what we are proud of and hope you see it reflected in your stay. STR-0000835
