Like the other houses on the estate, Samujana Eleven A was designed to blend into the lush landscape. Architect Gary Fell of GFAB Architects used natural stone and planters to tailor the villa to its surroundings. And with a sleek living room, dining area and fully equipped kitchen that are both open-plan and open-sided, the living spaces really do feel like they’re part of the island. If you’re entertaining while on holiday, let the breakfast bar double as a serving area for selections from the wine fridge and encourage guests to mingle as the ocean breezes waft in and the lights go on across the bay. For quieter evenings, there’s a separate enclosed media room.
Though Koh Samui is known for its beaches (and you could easily spend your vacation watching the waves lap at the sand), there’s plenty more to do on this picturesque island. To get your beach fix, stroll down to the Samujana private beach or take the estate’s shuttle service to family-friendly Choeng Mon Beach or lively Chaweng Beach. Ask staff about chartering a boat for swimming or snorkeling, taking a Thai cooking class, going on a guided tour of nearby waterfalls, temples and the rum distillery, visiting a night market or trying an adventure sport like go-karting or kitesurfing.
