I wish we would have stayed longer! Maria’s home was better than all the reviews, & I read them all! We chose to stay at Maria’s home because of its central location, the almost 5-star review & the hope of receiving chocolate cake (this was the kids’ deciding factor!) Maria went above & beyond on our expectations. Not only did she make us cake, but also soup for dinner & stocked the fridge with a few local items to get us through the day before getting to the grocery store (Pingo Doce is right around the corner). There are extra pillows, blankets, towels, toilet paper. Laundry detergent, beach towels, shampoo/conditioner, Qtips, you name it, it’s all there. It makes packing for this island adventure a bit less daunting. Maria is conveniently located close by if you need anything, but gives you privacy. The house is quiet, and set behind a gate on the road. The town is lovely to explore with great restaurants. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again - in fact we are counting on it!

We stayed in three different AirBnBs during our two-week stay on Sao Miguel, and this was easily our favourite. The house is beautifully kept and feels like a home from home. There were fresh flowers from Maria‘s garden in every room, and a table laid for us when we arrived with fresh home-made soup, chocolate, cake, and banana muffins. There were treats in the fridge and wine and home-made biscuits, too. The gardens surrounding the house are beautiful and peaceful, and we will absolutely be back!

Our stay in Maria’s house could not have been better. The house felt like home straight away and this was because of Maria’s attention to detail and the lovely little touches that made our stay so memorable. The house provided the perfect base from which to explore the island and it was always a pleasure to return after a day of sightseeing. Our family loved our stay and would go back in an instant! Llevo muchos años viajando, y para mi Maria ha sido de las mejores anfitrionas, realmente te sientes como en casa. Maria preparó detalles que nos llenaron el corazon:fuimos en Navidad e incluso nos encontramos un hermoso árbol de Navidad, pasteles, dulces de Navidad, y otras especialidades de la isla handmade... Al llegar una sopa caliente... Y con la sabiduría de resguardar tu intimidad y libertad... Tuvimos problemas con nuestro vuelo y nos devolvió los tres días que habíamos reservado en la casa. Muchas GRACIAS Maria, volveremos... Nos ha encantado la isla y tu hospitalidad

This was one of our best AirBnB experiences. Maria was responsive and helpful before and during our stay with recommendations for restaurants, local mass times, etc. The home was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities someone could want and then some--excellent kitchen and dining room, a porch in the beautiful garden with a grill we regret not taking advantage of, and clean/modern bathrooms with great water pressure. Maria generously welcomed us with food/beverage staples which was such a nice touch and made our first few days easier. THANK YOU MARIA! We hope to come again.
