Hola! I love to travel, the last place I went was the Caribbean in Honduras (awesome) & I have been day dreaming about my next destination-Colombia. I also love to dance-all kinds but Samba is my religion! For an authentically Mission experience there is a free Salsa lesson included in your stay- I can teach you in 15 mins -yes it's that easy or well, just enough to fake the rest... I also love gardening, culture, fashion, camping, history and living in SF. For 23 years, I owned one of the last Latin cultural stores in the community, it was a landmark legacy business which gave me a very intimate & spiritual connection to the Mission- hence why I was picked to film an Airbnb success story commercial you may have seen on u-tube called "Airbnb Nancy" - what a blast! I love showing guests the best of SF life, here are some of the best things to do beyond the touristy sights: -Bike along the embarcadero, across the GG bridge & take the ferry back from Sausalito- epic! bring some Napa or Sonoma Chardonnay with you & on the way stop at a crab stand at Fisherman's Wharf to pick up a very affordable crab sandwich on sourdough for the Quintessential San Francisco meal- have a picnic at Aquatic Park or Chrissy Field. -Hike Lands End -People watch at Dolores Park - best sunset view is at 20th & Church-don’t miss the irreverent Hunky Jesus (look a like) contest on Easter Sunday -Catch some blues at The Saloon in North Beach Sunday night -Eat a burrito in the Mission, Best in the US & do a self guided mural walk thru Balmy Alley & around. -Eat Dim Sum in Chinatown at the Hang ah Tea House & stop by The Fortune Cookie Factory nearby, (invented by a Japanese man) - Eat buffalo stew or burger at historical Tommy’s Joint & be transported back to the days of the Barbary Coast -ok The Cheese Cake Factory above Macy's Union Square can be a bit new money & a little touristy, but the food is actually pretty good & the view is AMAZING -The museum on the 2nd story of the Boudin Bakery in Fishermans Wharf is a little gem & you can see how the bread is being made into turtles, dolphons, crabs & other adorable animals. After that head to Musee Mecanique a few doors away for antique arcade machines, relics left from Playland that used to be at Ocean Beach. -Play "I left my Heart in San Francisco" by Tony Bennett & read some Herb Caen, who coined the term "Baghdad by the Bay" -Have some coffee at Caffe Trieste in North Beach, where the 1st Capuccino in the West was served & also where Francis Ford Coppola wrote The God Father. - See the Zapatista Mural in Jack Kerouc Alley, painted by a dear friend & behind iconic City Lights Bookstore . Ask me about the mural story. -Catch a baseball game at Oracle park ! SF songs & bands : City Lights by Journey The Grateful Dead of course Huey Lewis & the News Carlos Santana & more !
