A truly unique home, that is a privilege to stay in. Beautifully peaceful location, although we used it as a base to explore Dumfries and Galloway, which meant a few more miles to drive but coming back each night to the Mill was worth it. You could spend days just browsing the bookshelves, looking at the art and artifacts from around the world, sitting in the beautiful garden by the stream or playing tennis, you are spoilt for choice. The kitchen and utility have everything you need (and more) and there are lots of OS maps and information books about the area which are very helpful. In spite of driving 1000 miles this Mill enabled us to feel relaxed and peaceful, I’m not sure we will ever find a better Airbnb. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our first trip to Dumfries and Galloway, we wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.

Wonderful property full of amazing artefacts, books and more history than can be absorbed in one visit. An idyllic location in easy reach of local amenities, beaches, tourist attractions etc. Lovely walks all around in this beautiful part of the world.

We had a brilliant stay at this fantastic and utterly unique house. We felt at home straight away and it was a fantastic base for exploring Dumfries & Galloway for a week of beaches, pony trekking and jet skiing!

Beautiful, unique house just outside of Castle Douglas. Fascinating history about the house and the restoration from the family who owns it. Perfect for any book or antique lover, worth a stay!
