A really wonderful, beautiful place to stay. Hugh and Lisa are so friendly, had storage for our bikes and told us about the best pubs, bars, gigs that were going on in the evening which made our stay a joy.

Lowestoft is like the Suffolk antidote to Southwold. You should visit both towns if you are visiting the area. The property we stayed in is highly recommended. The house (the owners live there as well) is an amazing and eclectic mix of art and crafts. Both the hosts are working printmakers and their produce is all around - as is a lot of other artwork. Guests have the use of the first floor, the rooms are huge and the bathroom is unique in itself. Beds are very comfortable and the area is very quiet. The kitchenette is within the print studio and has everything you'd need for your stay - kettle, sink, fridge and microwave etc. You'd hardly be aware that you are sharing the house. The hosts were very helpful throughout and welcoming. As newcomers to the area we got some good recommendations for food and drink. Highly recommended as a place to stay.

Hugh's place is amazing! Myself, my husband and 10 yo son all enjoyed everything about staying there, from the comfy beds to the wood burner in the bedroom, the piles of books everywhere to the 3 friendly cats, and not to forget the friendliness of Hugh and Lisa and the closeness to the sea. We found a wonderful diner in the park around the corner for a yummy breakfast, and really enjoyed exploring the wealth of independent shops on the old High Street - including Hugh and Lisa's own bookshop. We highly recommend a stay here - all was positive, communication was top notch and we felt totally relaxed and at home. We will be back!

What a wonderful stay, a warm welcome, tea and chat was much needed, and lots of useful suggestions tailored to our specific interests was shared to help us find our way around the secret charms of Lowestoft. Hugh and Lisa are interesting and interested hosts with diverse local and artistic knowledge with places to visit and places to eat. The two double rooms were both easy to be in inspiring, uplifting and comfortable. We had everything we needed for our short stay. We also called on Lisa's printmaking skills and thoroughly enjoyed slowing down on a day's linocut and printmaking for just the four of us. Hugh & Lisa's friendly cats also welcomed us into their home and became part of the break. Their lovely house is a short walk to the quiet North beach. We bought bikes and paddle boarded at Oulton Broad where they can be hired only a couple of miles away. We enjoyed our first trip to Lowestoft so much we look forward to coming back soon.
